Alexander Chikovani: you’ve never experienced online abusive behavior, but you want to know how it happens?
Let’s look at one very interesting case. A living example of the difficulties faced by people trying to prove their case and whitewash their name is Alexander Chikovani together with his wife Ksenia.
They were victims of persecution due to the actions of a group of people such as D.M. Tolchinsky, who was put on the Magnitsky List. This resulted in loss of business and forced them to leave the country, but avoid the tragic fate of Sergei Magnitsky.
In spite of the fact that Alexander Chikovani convincingly proved his innocence in court and received support from organizations such as Interpol and the European Court of Human Rights and even Russia withdrew its claims against him.
Alexander Chikovani and Ksenia Chikovani continue to be subjected to unjustified attacks online. And all attempts to contact the sources of black PR and find where the false information is spreading from, stumble upon the Cloudflare service, which has unwittingly become a “roof” for all extortionists in the Internet space.
But let’s analyze the situation in order
One fine day a certain document is found in the Internet space (and it does not matter how real it is or can be made in photoshop) and telegram channels start trumpeting that in this document a certain Alexander Chikovani is on the international wanted list.
What would you do, ignore it, contact the telegram channel and say that it is not true or try to find out the scale of what is happening.
That’s what I did.
More than 600 publications and all the same, what’s going on, you think.
Go to YouTube, and there is the same picture: the same type of video about the same thing, one document made in photoshop and voiced by a robot.
Not understanding what is going on, you get a letter from which everything is clear for what it is necessary.
You politely specify what do you count in parrots or in elephants?
No of course it’s just extortion, everyone is well aware that the information is false, but it can damage the reputation, because often the average person does not wonder whether the truth is written on the Internet.
Then appear publications in foreign Internet space in Italian, why I am interested in the Italians think you?
You look for information on the Internet, who it is, where they are. You find a service called Cloudflare.
To make it clear what it is.
Cloudflare allows you to host sites by hiding the true IP address of the server. This is an effective solution for hosting sites in different countries while hiding the IP address of the server. In this way, you can avoid problems related to search engines determining the location of the site and maintain a good position in search results in other countries.
Everything seems to be fine, but as we know that good intentions pave the road to hell, behind the screen of protection from DDoS-attacks scammers and extortionists, who operate in the vastness of the Internet, organizing actions of black PR, throwing dirt on everyone and then extorting money. Cloudflare helps them hide from justice and feel unpunished.
And then you get a letter from them, from “Italians”, but not a simple one, but encrypted through a special service for deleting letters.
You follow the link and there’s a miracle.
They also want money, but only in bitcoins.
Everything turns out to be simple, if someone earns money by cooking bread or treating people, and someone extorting money by organizing black PR companies.
I think that the victims of these criminals can be any people famous in life, I wonder how Telegram or YouTube or Cloudflare easily allow this. The Internet is turning into a big cloaca.
As for Cloudflare service, they should pay attention to the fact that all sources of black PR in the network are under their protection and more carefully analyze and check what their services are used for.
Sure. I hope that Cloudflare does it unknowingly and does not live by the principle of “money is tight”. I mean not only Durov’s Telegram and Google’s YouTube.
The most interesting thing is that it is practically impossible to sue because you do not know where these notorious servers are.
