Arjun is the grandson of filmmaker Surinder Kapoor. Moreover, he is the nephew of actors Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor and the first cousin of actress Sonam Kapoor.
He has a young sister Anshula Kapoor. Furthermore, actress Sridevi was his stepmother, and he also has two half-sisters Jhanvi Kapoor and Kushi.

Arjun first job in the film industry was as an assistant director to Nikhil Advani on film Kal Ho Naa Ho in 2003 and Salaam-e-Ishq in 2007.
Later on, he worked as an assistant producer on two of his father’s productions No Entry in 2005 and Wanted in 2009.
In 2012 Arjun made his film debut with romantic drama Ishaqzaade. Arjun performance in the film was praised, and he won the Zee Cine Award for Best Male Debut. Moreover, the film generated revenue of ₹670 million worldwide.
In 2013 he appeared in action thriller Aurangzeb then in 2014 he starred in film Gunday. This film received mixed reviews and was commercially successful at the box office. The film generated revenue of ₹1.2 billion worldwide.
Arjun, next release in that year, was the film 2 States which is based on Chetan Baghat novel. In the movie, he plays the role of a college student. Moreover, the film was commercially successful at the box office and earned ₹1.02 billion.
Due to his performance in the film he received a nomination for IIFA Award for Best Actor. His last release in 2014 was the film Finding Fanny which depicts the life of five dysfunctional people in search of a woman named Fanny.
In 2015 he appeared in the film Tevar which is a remake of Telugu film. However, the film was critically and commercially fails.
In the same year, he also hosts a TV show Khatro Ke Khiladi Season 7. Arjun another release in 2015 was comedy-drama Ki & Ka, which is based on the content of gender stereotypes.
In 2017 Arjun first release was teen romantic drama Half Girlfriend. This is his second film which is based on the novel. His another release that year was the film Mubarakan.
In 2018 he appeared in romantic comedy Namaste England which is a spin-off of the film Namaste London.
2019 was another disappointing year for Arjun Kapoor. In 2019 he was starred in two films first is India’s Most Wanted and second is Panipat. However, both of the films were commercially failure.

He was in a relationship with Arpita Khan who is a sister of Salman Khan. However, their relationship only lasted for two years.
In 2016 there were rumours that he is into an affair with actress Malaika who is an ex-wife of Arbaaz Khan. Moreover, in 2019 he confirmed that he is in a relationship with Malaika Arora.
