He was born on 29 April 1979 in Romford, London. But she grew up in Collier Row, a suburban housing estate in the north of Romford.

In 1999 she became a part of the pop group S Club 7. The group became famous after their own BBC television series, Miami 7.

The group remained together for five years. During that period, they gave four UK No.1 singles, one UK No.1 album, and a top-ten single in the United States, Asia, Latin America, and Africa.

Moreover, S Club 7 released four studio albums, and more than 14 million copies are sold worldwide. The group was signed to Polydor Records.

Their TV series shows the group traveling across the United States and eventually ending up in Barcelona, Spain. Their show Miami 7 is popular in more than 100 countries and has more than 90 million viewers worldwide.

In 2001, the group earned the record of the year. However, during a live stage performance on 21 April 2003, the group announced that they were to disband.

From 2003 to 2005, Jo O’Meara became addicted to gambling, and even her spine had some problems during that time.

In 2004, she signed with Simon Fuller as her artist manager and started recording her debut studio album. However, the album was not released, and in December 2004, she split from Simon when the negotiations with Polydor Records Failed.

In July 2005, she signed with Sanctuary Records and released her debut single What Hurts the Most. The song reached number 13 in the United Kingdom.

Later on, in October 2005, she released her debut album Relentless. The album reached No. 48 in the UK and her music was praised by the critics.

However, in November 2005, she left the label due to some disagreements between her and the label. In February 2006, she joined the BBC reality show Just the Two of Us. Her singing partner was Chris Fountain in the show, and the duo came third in the competition.

Later on, in January 2007, she appeared on Celebrity Big Brother. In the show, she was accused of racist and bullying behavior toward another fellow contestant, an Indian actress Shilpa Shetty. Due to this, a lot of complaints are registered to Ofcom.

In November 2008, Jo O’Meara, Bradley McIntosh, and Paul Cattermole formed the spin-off group S Club 3, and they started performing in Universities, Nightclubs, and camps around the UK.

In November 2014, all seven members of the original S Club reunited to perform some of their greatest hits on BBC Children In Need.

Later on, they even did a reunion tour, Bring It All Back 2015, in May 2015. After the tour, Jo O’Meara continued to work with S Club 3, and in 2017, the trio released a single titled Family.
