She was born on 4 September 1976 in Australia. She grew up on a Bolaro Station, a sheep property near Adaminaby in New South Wales.

Her father, Mac, was the station manager, and her mother was Elizabeth Armytage. Moreover, Samantha also has a younger brother, Charlie.

She began her media career as a news reporter and presenter in 1999 at WIN Television in Canberra. Later on, she joined Sky News Australia in 2002 as a chief political reporter.

Seven Network

In 2003, Samantha joined Seven Network. Moreover, in December 2004, she landed her first major presenting role on Seven News Sydney.

Later on, she presents latest news updates on Seven Morning News. In October 2006, she became the presenter of Seven 4.30 News.

Due to this, the protests were held outside the Sunrise studio in Martin Place.
