Shannon Sharpe’s full name is Shannon Goad “Shay” Sharpe. He is a man who battled poverty and makes his way to leave a remarkable footprint in the sports world.

He was born on 26 June 1968 in Chicago, Illinois, United States. His father, Pete Sharpe, and mother, Mary Alice Dixon, divorced when he was just three months old.

So he, along with his older brother Sterling Sharpe and sister Sherra, was raised by their grandmother Mary Potter in Glennville, Georgia.

When he was in the 8th grade, his father died due to lung cancer. So due to his family’s poor condition at a very young age, he started working on farms and in tobacco fields.
